Parent Tips to Support Your Child During Online Learning
- help your child establish a routine
- wake up and go to bed at the same time each day
- remind them to check their email, classroom platforms and Google Classroom each morning
- set aside time each day for "school hours" (for example 9:00-11:00 and 1:00-3:00)
- help your child find a good work area in your home
- try and find a comfortable chair and table space
- remove distractions such as toys and gaming devices
- remind your child to close all video and gaming tabs until school work is complete
- encourage your child to work independently
- check in on your children often and offer help when needed, but let them take the lead on doing work
- remind them to email the teacher or ask a classmate for help if they're not sure what to do
- remind your child to check previous assignments for teacher feedback
I will be online (email, kidblog and Google Classroom) each day until 4:00. Please do not hesitate to contact me.
